Cafe Townsend

Through this Cafe Townsend project, I saw the full scope of creating a website using Dreamweaver. It wasent easy, but I finally finished the whole website. I think the easiest part for me was adding the finishing touches to the website and making sure there were no broken links, everything looked the same, etc. There were parts that made more sense than others; like writing out the whole CSS code didnt make a lot of sense at first with all the brackets and periods, but in the end I realized how helpful it was and how much time and frustration was saved. The most frustrating part of making this website, was probably when my pictures and videos werent working when I previwed it. In Dreamweaver, I could see my files werent in the right spots but I couldnt always find them because they werent where they were supposed to be. Keeping all my files in order was kind of confusing because I needed to be careful to put each file in the right folder so my website would function properly, sometimes I had 2 copies of the same file and t
hat confused me on which was the right one. A question I have about creating a website in Dreamweaver would be what other things could I add to a website? I would like to learn how to make a slideshow or something with pictures and captions. For the Cafe Townsesnd site, my biggest accomplishment was being able to find a problem in the design view, and fixing it by going through the code. The biggest thing I learned that I'll keep in mind for the next website I make is CSS. CSS is an easy way to make your website look cleaner and well put together, I definatly want to master CSS so I can use it later. Making a website was a fun experience, eventhough at some points it got frustrating.

Coraline: Explore a hand-made world.

Be careful what you wish for.
This website was a 13th annual Webby Award Winner for the best use of animation or motion graphics. The movie Coraline is based on a book about a girl who explores and finds a new world. On this website, you can visit and
interact with each one of Coraline’s discoveries by scrolling your mouse around the screen. This website caught my attention because it’s fun to use and explore the site. Activites such as uploading your own picture and adding buttons for eyes is a way to involove yourself in Coraline's world. I think this website was a good nominee because it has a unique set up and great motion graphics.

HTML?!

HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. HTML is a basic a code that makes up websites and pages. To us, most websites are easy to use and understand, however if you go behind the scenes and look what it took to make up a single webpage, you would be amazed. Learning HTML is frustrating, confusing and very complicated, unless you know exactly what your doing. Some of the projects we had in class so far have been easy for me because I know the basics of reading and understanding HTML. Each code has to be very specific down to the last letter. Even though it's horrible, learning HTML is a useful thing because it's everywhere, even places you might not realize. Any site on the World Wide Web needs the long HTML codes to make it up. I would like to learn how to make a unique website like The Zune (click on it and visit the website). Its very animated and colorful, I can only imagine what the codes look like(:

Wes Scheler

"In a world driven by persuasion, it seems harder and harder to find people who truly seek out who they are and work on their own initiative."
Wes Scheler is a photographer & videographer from San Diego. His photography of surfers is awesome. Scheler seems to capture each surfer at just the right time to provide an image that portrays weighlessness and defiance of gravity.
Each image is taken in a quick flash but in that quick second the impossible of flight and walking on water is captured in a new way. If you enjoy action photography then check out his photography.

Y Water

The article that I chose is Y water. Y water is organic, rich in nutrients, and low calorie water. This article stood out against all the other ads because it was colorful and had a unique shape to the product. This product's audience focuses mainly on kids and it's all about making water a source of entertainment as well as promoting good health. On the website, you can read about each water: brain, immune, muscle and bone and learn how it helps your body.
